Recycling effort underway in Wausau

by Kelsi Schindler

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- A recycling effort is underway in the City of Wausau, Friday.

Wausau residents are encouraged to drop off selected large appliances, mattresses, furniture and household items. For a small fee, residents can also drop off computers, monitors, printers and microwaves.

Those items will then be recycled or donated to Randlin Homes and Goodwill.

"Clean it up Wausau" is taking place Friday and Saturday near the yard waste site on Chellis Street.

According to a news release from the city, the effort is coordinated by the Neighbor to Neighbor (N2N) committee and local non-profits.

Event workers tell Newsline 9's Colby Robertson that Wausau residents must bring proof of residency when dropping off items.
