MERRILL (WAOW) -- As workers at an area company continue to strike for the fourth week, other union members ban together to support them.
Members representing about six additional unions came out to picket in support of the workers at Merrill Manufacturing.
Union President Norma Schroeder says, "They decided to walk with us and it's been a real enjoyable day. A lot of support came in. It feels wonderful that other people understand why we're out here, why we have to be out here. It really bolsters the moral, makes people want to keep going."
The workers have agreed to take to certain concessions offered by the company, but they want the ability to renegotiate their contracts in a year, in case the economy improves.
The two sides started contract negotiations last November and have yet to reach a deal.
