EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) -- The Minnesota Vikings have re-signed backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson as the team waits for Brett Favre to decide if he will return for another season.
Team officials announced Monday they had re-signed the restricted free agent. Terms of the deal were not released.
Jackson served in a backup role to Favre last season and appeared in eight games. The fifth-year team veteran has 19 career starts with 21 career passing touchdowns and four rushing touchdowns.
Vikings coach Brad Childress has said if Favre decides to retire that he is content going with Jackson or the other backup quarterback, Sage Rosenfels.
