Packers take Penn State tight end with first pick in fifth round
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers have taken Penn State tight end Andrew Quarless in the fifth round of the NFL draft.
Quarless emerged as a pass-catching threat for the Nittany Lions last season, catching 41 passes for 536 yards with three touchdowns. He struggled with off-field issues earlier in his college career but says he has recommitted himself to football.
The Packers did not have a fourth-round pick Saturday after trading up to take Georgia Tech safety Morgan Burnett on Friday.
