Packers take Buffalo running back Starks in 6th round

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Green Bay Packers have selected Buffalo running back James Starks in the sixth round of the NFL draft.

Starks missed the 2009 season after having surgery on his right shoulder. He says the injury is fully healed.

Starks put up impressive statistics before the injury. He rushed for 1,103 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2007, then had 1,333 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2008. He also was a prolific receiver.

The Packers took Penn State tight end Andrew Quarless and TCU offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse in the fifth round.
