WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Snow and rain weren't enough to bring down Brew Fest. The fundraiser for Wausau's SquareUp committee went off, almost without a hitch.
Last night's snowfall was enough to collapse the tent. But volunteers worked hard to get a new one up. The kick off was delayed only about a half hour.
"We made some quick phone calls and the tent guys said they'd be here," explained SquareUp committee volunteer Phil Valitchka. "The volunteers showed up in the morning and we got the old tent taken down and we put up a new one. The snow took us out for just a moment or 2 but we caught our breath and we're back in the game."
Brew Fest offered unique beer from Wausau's 3 area breweries. There was also lots of food and music. All the money raised goes towards the SquareUp committee's efforts to renovate the 400 block.
