WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Despite a controversial beer fence and a May snow storm the 400 block fundraiser came out a success.
The SquareUp Brew Fest organizers say the Saturday event raised $15,000 for city square renovations in downtown Wausau.
Brew Fest goers sampled three special beers brewed specifically for the event. Bull Falls, Great Dane and Red Eye will continue selling those beers while supplies last with proceeds going to the SquareUp fund.
The campaign goal is $1 million. So far, they've raised more than $900,000. The official campaign ends July 1st.
