Libya says 96 die in plane crash, boy survives

AMSTERDAM (AP) -- The Dutch prime minister says dozens of Dutch citizens were aboard the plane that crashed in Libya Wednesday, killing at least 96 people.

Jan Peter Balkenende has confirmed reports that the only known survivor is a Dutch boy, but he said he had no further details, including the boy's age.

He said the exact number of Dutch victims is not known.

AMSTERDAM (AP) -- The Dutch tourism board says 61 of the victims of a plane crash in Libya were from the Netherlands -- more than half of those on board.

The Royal Dutch Tourism Board ANWB released the figure on its website. One Dutch child survived Wednesday's crash near Tripoli, the organization said. It did not give his age or condition.
