MADISON (WAOW) - Three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) individuals have been named to the 2010 National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) NCAA Division III All-America Team.
UW-Eau Claire's Katie Maurer and Catherine Wagner, along with UW-Stevens Point's Jessica Urban received first team recognition.
This marks the first time in history that the WIAC has landed three individuals on the first team. UW-Eau Claire has had eight players combine to claim 13 All-America plaques with the addition of Maurer and Wagner.
Urban captured All-America honors for the third straight season. She garnered national Player of Year accolades a year ago and was a second team pick in 2008.
UW-Eau Claire head coach John Means was chosen the 2010 NCAA Division III SkyCaddie NGCA Central Region Coach of the Year. His selection marks the fourth consecutive season that a coach from the WIAC has claimed the prize.
Individuals joining Maurer, Wagner and Urban on the 2010 NCAA Division III NGCA All-Central Region Team included: UW-Eau Claire's Torie Ives and Emily Swift and UW-Whitewater's Chelsea Davis. Urban and Ives secured All-Region laurels for the fourth straight season, while Maurer and Davis were members of last year's squad.
