School board meets to discuss interim superintendent
by Jackson Schmidtke
WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Right now, the Wausau School Board is meeting in closed session discussing a possible interim superintendent.
Earlier in the day, the board received the results of their Leadership Profile Assessment. The survey was formed from more than 300 surveys and interviews with students and community members.
The surveys identified lists of strengths, weaknesses, and desired characteristics for the next superintendent.
According to the report, the next superintendent should have the following characteristics: unquestioned integrity, be a forward thinker, have extensive background in education and be able to mend relationships between administrators, teachers, the school board, and the community.
Current superintendent Steve Murley is leaving the district to take the superintendent job in Iowa City.
