Students turned on to technology

by Bryon Graff

WAUSAU (WAOW) - Students who love math and science get a sneak peek at a new kind of learning.

The Wausau School District's Engineering and Global Leadership Academy will open this fall.

Students entering 9th, 10th or 11th grade in the Wausau School District get to see if it's something that interests them.

It's designed to open them up to engineering and technology.

This is described as a one of a kind experience and gives students hands-on experience with technology.

Andi Tridento/Horace Mann Student: "It was definitely a challenge. We did the math seminar and we did a math project and I had no idea what we were doing. In the end, we learned a lot of random stuff that we never realized tied into windmills. It worked out and we really see how this school could help benefit our futures."

It's located at Wausau East.
