WESTON (WAOW) -- Some area Boy Scouts are gearing up for an adventure of a lifetime.
Three troops of more than 100 scouts from Central Wisconsin will take off next week for the National Jamboree in Virginia. They'll spend the rest of the month with 30,000 other scouts from across the country. They'll work on team-building, earning merit badges, and bonding.
"Different ways to cook things, different team activities, different ways to get along with a group, and all the merit badges that we earn, we can take that back with us to our home troops," said Senior Troop Leader Troy Seehafer.
"We're all gathering together and doing different activities," explained Senior Troop Leader John Dondlinger. "A lot of famous people come, too. In 2001, Steven Spielberg came and taught cinematography."
The scouts are spending the weekend packing and getting ready to hit the bright and early next Thursday.
