(WAOW) - Nationals pitcher Jordan Zimmermann has completed the first leg of his rehabilitation from last season's elbow surgery. The Auburndale native and former UW-Stevens Point pitcher threw 4 scoreless innings for Washington's single-A affiliate. Zimmermann struck out 4 and allowed 2 hits while facing the minimum.
In 13 total innings of rehab work this month, Zimmermann has yet to allow a run and has not walked a single batter.
Next on the rehab trail is a start in low-A ball before being promoted to double-A. Zimmermann was originally slated to rejoin the Nationals sometime in August.
