Former Big Leaguers Host Baseball Camp in Stevens Point
by Jayson Geiser
STEVENS POINT (WAOW) - A group of former Major League Baseball players held a free baseball camp for kids Thursday in Stevens Point.
The camp was headlined by Jay Johnstone, who spent more than 20 years in the bigs and won four World Series titles. He was joined by former Brewer Jim "Gumby" Gantner, amongst other big league alums and members of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.
The camp is helping raise money to fund rescue trucks sent from central Wisconsin to Nicaragua.
