CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (PRESS RELEASE) – UW-Stevens Point junior Danelle Olson, a native of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, has been selected to the National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Teams for Division III.
Olson is one of 494 women's collegiate golfers across all three divisions recognized with this prestigious honor and one of four Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference golfers on the team.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 50% (Division I) or 66% (Division II & III) of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Joining Olson from the WIAC are UW-Eau Claire's Emily Swift and Maggie Lattery and UW-Whitewater's Alexa Campanile .
Olson and the Pointer women's golf team kick off the 2010-11 season September 4-5 at the UW-Eau Claire Invite.
