SUGAR CAMP (WAOW)--Eric Schoeneck of Sugar Camp loved taking his daughter, Jadelynn, to the town's disc golf course.

"She'd trudge around the course with us. Throw the disc every once and a while. She really enjoyed it until we got to hole number 7, then she could see the town playground and she decided it wasn't fun to play golf anymore; she wanted to play on the playground," says Schoeneck.

Playing Frisbee golf with his little girl is no longer possible. Jadelynn passed away before her fourth birthday. A rare cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma took her life in May 2007.

"It was a cancer of the brain and it can spread very rapidly. She was one of only 22 cases known in the world to have."

It was every parents nightmare and a long fight to the end.

"She had surgery, Radiation Chemotherapy for over 7 months."

A non-profit organization called Angel On My Shoulder supported the family throughout Jadelynn's journey. Now, the Schoenecks support the organization.

"They gave us words of support and sent us gift cards, so what we decided to was to start a disc golf tournament in memory of Jadelynn and all the money goes towards Angel on My Shoulder."

This years fundraiser takes place August 7th and 8th at the Sugar Camp Golf Course. The Schoeneck invite beginners and expert athletes to attend for a round of disc golf. When players arrive on hole seven, a special plaque reminds them of young Jadelynn.
