Wisconsin Assembly leader received pornographic e-mail

MADISON (AP) -- Assembly Majority Leader Tom Nelson of Kaukauna says his office was one of those that received an e-mail from someone containing images of child pornography.

Nelson said Tuesday that one of his staff members called him on July 24 and described what was in the message. Nelson, a Democrat, says he told the staff member to alert Capitol Police, who have subsequently launched an investigation along with the attorney general's office.

Police notified all legislative offices on Friday about the e-mails and urged them not to open the messages or forward them to anyone else.

Republican Rep. Joel Kleefisch of Oconomowoc has also said his office got the message.

Assembly Chief Clerk Patrick Fuller says a number of representatives got the e-mail, but he declined further comment.
