Zdroik Wins 30-Lap Challenge at Eagle River Speedway
EAGLE RIVER (WAOW) - Eagle River's Jason Zdroik won the 30-Lap Hartman Well Drilling and Pumps WISSOTA Midwest Mod/I-M-C-A Sport Mod Challenge. Zdroik made it through a crowded field to hold off Marenisco, Michigan's Duane Dunbar, and Oconto Falls, Travis Cain. Zdroik and Dunbar are WISSOTA Sanctioned Cars, while Cain is with the I-M-C-A Sanctioning Body. 20 Cars took part in this Special Race of the 2010 Season.
12 Cars raced in the WISSOTA Street Stock Feature, with Elcho's Nick Visser getting his first Feature win in this class. Visser competed in the Sport Four Class last year. Eagle River's Denny LaCrosse, who won last week's feature, took a second, and Conover's Brad Hartman took a third.
Ontonagon, Michigan's Ryan Huff and Rhinelander's Dustin Miller went into last night's races tied in points in the Pure Stock Class. However with Huff winning the Feature, he now take over the lead. Rhinelander's Matt Smith took a third.
Bruce Crossing, Michigan's Logan Lannett continues to win in the Sport Four Class, as the 16 year old took the Feature, with Manitowish Waters, Phil Malouf coming in second, and Merrill's Adam Johnson taking a third.
11 year old, Robby Resch of Antigo continued to beat up on drivers 10 to 20 years older in the Micro Sprint 600 class. Resch won the feature. Eagle River's Mike Dolezal and Jay Reif came in second and third respectively. 7 year old Race Gunderson edged out Tanner Resch, Dylan Waldvogel and Josh Kallas in the Junior Sprint Feature.
Next Tuesday Night the fastest Modifieds to race on dirt will be competing in the Great Northern Modified Open. This 30 lap feature will be in addition to the regular scheduled classes.
