RHINELANDER (PRESS RELEASE)-- On Monday, August 9, 2010 at 3:53 p.m. the Oneida County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a person at Hodag Park, in the City of Rhinelander, reporting a possible drowning.
The Oneida County Dive Team was paged and responded to the scene along with Rhinelander Police, Rhinelander Fire Department, Oneida County EMS and Oneida County Sheriff's Deputies. The Dive Team searched the water for approximately 20 minutes and located the victim in 13 feet of water. The victim was brought to the surface and immediately handed over to emergency medical personnel. The victim was eventually transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander and later pronounced deceased.
The 15-year-old male victim has been identified as Michael R. Hoople, of Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office along with the Rhinelander Police Department and the Oneida County Medical Examiner's Office are currently investigating the drowning.

The victim has been identified as Michael R. Hoople of Rhinelander. Rescuers responding to a 911 call at Hodag Park found his body in about 13 feet of water.
The sheriff's office and Rhinelander Police Department are investigating the drowning.
