MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Heavy rain and strong winds continued to pound southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin early Friday with forecasters promising another round of rough weather later in the day.

The National Weather Service posted a severe thunderstorm watch for portions of southern and central Minnesota and northwestern and central Wisconsin.

A flash flood watch was in effect for portions of eastern Minnesota and northern and central Wisconsin.

Stearns County Emergency Management Director Marv Klug tells WJON a tornado touched down in the western part of the county Thursday night near Brooten, damaging a silo, 2 pole barns, garage and house. There were no reports of injuries. There were also reports of funnel clouds in other parts of Stearns County including Miere Grove, Sartell, and Waite Park.
