MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker wants television stations across Wisconsin airing an attack ad by his Democratic opponent to take it off the air.
An attorney for Walker on Wednesday sent a letter to 18 television stations saying that the ad being run by Democrat Tom Barrett falsely attributes a negative ad to Walker.
The Barrett ad shows footage from and refers to an ad previously run by the Republican Governors Association attacking Barrett. Words on the screen say "Scott Walker Negative Television Ad."
Barrett spokesman Phil Walzak defended the ad saying Walker hasn't backed away from the Republican Governor's ad and has clearly aligned himself with the group in the past.
