RHINELANDER (WAOW)--The DNR brought a group of foster kids together for Governor Doyle's final tour of the Northwoods and went fishing. Over a dozen kids filled four boats on Friday 20th in Boom Lake in Rhinelander.
It's the second year for this friendly fishing competition. Among those towing the line Secretary of Tourism Kelli Trumble, DNR Secretary Matt Frank and Governor Doyle.
Governor Jim Doyle says, "In this case their going out fishing and having some fun and also learn about the challenges of danger species and have a wild life specialist with them."
An event like this is made to make these kid feel special. Jesse was among those fishing. He says that a day spent out on the lake without worry just being a normal kid. "That the world still cares about us that were not just stereotypical unwanted kids."
