WAUSAU (WAOW) -- This summer marks the greenest for golf courses in Wausau.
Thanks to all the extra rain this season, area golf courses are seeing improvements which make golfers and course owners much happier.
"The rain has done wonders for the course, its better, in beautiful shape," says Barbara Spinzig, a member at the Wausau Country Club.
"Last year we had a real late spring, so we weren't able to get on the course early," Spinzig adds.
Course staff says this is the greenest grass the course has seen in years.
"When you get a year like this when everything is beautiful, people are happy to bring guests, we've got a lot of outings here and people are having fun," says Randy Slavik, golf course superintendent at the Wausau Country Club.
Too much rain can cause flooding or problems with irrigation, but Slavik says that an extra rainy season did not result in any problems, the course only benefited from it.
