Northwoods Murder Case Update

by Melissa Langbehn

WAUSAU (WAOW)--We should know later this week whether a Minocqua man.. accused of killing  his wife will stand trial.

Investigators say William Schmidt killed his wife Lori  in their Minocqua home  in June.

Her body was found,  wrapped in a comforter,  in a bedroom closet.

At a court hearing today in Oneida County,  the judge decided to allow phone testimony from the doctor who performed the autopsy on Lori  Schmidt's remains.

William Schmidt returns to court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. That will determine if is ordered to stand trial.

He faces life in prison  if convicted of murder.
