Former Marshfield doctor makes court appearance

MARSHFIELD (WAOW) -- The Marshfield Doctor accused of sexually assaulting sedated patients is back in court.

Kevin Lang faces five felony counts of 2nd degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim.

This is Lang's second appearance in Wood County Court. Last year, the judge ordered a delay to allow for more victims to come forward.

Since Lang's December court appearance, one more female patient has come forward claiming Lang touched her inappropriately while she was recovering from a procedure at the Marshfield clinic.

Now, that makes a total of five patients to file a complaint.

Still, according to a criminal complaint Lang admitted that he touched 11 patients against their will between 2003 and 2007.

Wood County District Attorney John Henkelmann says, "Certainly if there is anyone else out there, the time was so that additional victims could come forward if they're and certainly it's never too late for any of the victims to come forward should they chose to do so."

Lang remains out on a $25,000 cash bond. Tuesday, he also waived the time limits for his preliminary hearing.

No date has been set for that, but the hearing will determine if there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.

If there are other victims who have not yet come forward, you're asked to call your local police department.
