STETTIN (WAOW) -- "It kinda looked like a river, a raging river flowing in," says resident Tom Roberts. This is how these home owners are describing the water that invaded there home.
"Just been a big nightmare. Finally got the water to where we could open the doors this morning, quarter after five," he adds.
They've lived here for 8 years, and they say the water has never gotten this close.
"I knew it was coming, I just didn't know it was going to be this bad," says Tom Roberts.
The Wisconsin river breached it's banks spilling into their yard, waist deep and washing out everything in the yard.
"My two snow mobiles are under, my lawnmowers are under, my motorcycles under, it's a dozer pretty much," Roberts adds.
It was so bad, they couldn't get to the first floor of their home all weekend.
And the and the only way into their home was by climbing up a ladder.
"Just disbelief. My business, office everything is downstairs so we're scrambling to get files and computer equipment up on the high ground."
Now they're just trying to prevent it from happening again.
"My dike is going to get continued to out to the end of the driveway, and then I'm going to build a dike to the end of my property," Roberts concludes.
