UNITY (WAOW) -- Two years ago, folks living in a small Wisconsin town decided not to tear down their town hall, but instead begin renovations.
Unity Memorial Hall was built in 1947.
Crews have renovated the bathrooms, given the building a new steel roof, repainted the stage and given it brand new stage curtains.
Most of the additions have been paid for through donation. But more is needed to finish the project.
On Saturday, October 9th, the Unity Memorial Hall Renovation project is holding a fundraiser. It all starts with a used book sale at 4:00 PM at the Hall. At 7:30 PM, Karen Taylor-Good, a Grammy nominated singer/songwriter takes the stage.
Tickets are just $10. You can buy them at the door or in advance at the Unity Clerk's Office or at the Mid-Wisconsin bank in Colby. All proceeds go straight to the memorial hall renovation project.
