MILWAUKEE (AP) -- An inmate who knew Milwaukee serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in prison has written a book about their discussions.
The book is called "Serial Killer's Soul" and was released last month.
The author is Herman Martin, who was in a cell next to Dahmer before he was killed.
Martin was serving time for theft. Dahmer was serving a series of life sentences after admitting to the murders of 17 young men and boys in Milwaukee, some of whom he mutilated and cannibalized, when he was killed by another inmate in prison in 1994.
The book details how Martin would talk to Dahmer daily about Christianity through a small vent between the cement block wall and ceiling.
Herman was reincarcerated this spring for theft again after more than a decade of freedom.
