Birds in Art profile - Allen Blagden

WAUSAU (WAOW) - Even the most experienced artists have some jitters from time to time.  Take for instance, Allen Blagden.

His work is being shown for the tenth time at Birds in Art.

His piece this year is called Egyptian Vulture.

Blagden says it's truly an honor to be accepted.

Sometimes he wonders if his work really deserves to hang alongside his peers.

When it does, it makes it worth all that work.

Allen Blagden: "I sit in the studio all day, working away and thinking I like this. You get to the point where you say you're ready to make it public but then you have to put it in front of somebody to say alright you judge it now."

Blagden is on the board for the Society of Animal Artists.

He tells us it's sometimes difficult to talk art and you really can't teach inspiration.

But he enjoys watching his two-year-old granddaughter.. as she tackles a blank canvas with a paintbrush of her own.
