MINOCQUA (WAOW) -- Thousands remain in the dark and cold after wind storms rip through the state and more than 5,000 Minocqua residents still don't know when it will be restored.
Many of the homes affected lost electricity when strong winds Tuesday and Wednesday blew down trees that fell on power lines. Homeowners without power must join a waiting list and wait for crews to restore electricity to their homes.
There are some houses in neighborhoods that have power, while right next door there is none.
Homeowner Dale Hoffman is frustrated that his power is still out. "I can't believe that this is happening. You can't get one crew to put one wire up?"
There is some good news. Crews have been working throughout the day to restore power to the area, providing electricity to 400 homes from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. alone.
