Bell Ringing started up, seeking volunteers

by Patrick Manning

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- The Salvation Army's red kettle bell ringers are out in full force. The Wausau Salvation Army has kettles placed throughout the city.

It's a volunteer job and it relies on donations to help give people in need clothes and food. The money also helps the Salvation Army put on programs throughout the year.

"If the family doesn't have food they try to donate money for the food or of they don't have clothes they try to help out with clothes and try to make their holiday a whole lot better than what other people have that don't have anything," says Carrie Sleet, a volunteer bell ringer.

If you're interested in volunteering as a bell ringer, you can call the Marathon County Salvation Army at 715-845-4272.
