STEVENS POINT (WAOW)- The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team will hit the road to face Macalester College in the opening round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament on Friday November 12th in St. Paul, Minn.
The Pointers earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament last Saturday when they won their third consecutive WIAC Tournament by defeating the Warhawks of UW-Whitewater 1-0. It was the Pointers 15th WIAC Tournament Championship.
The winner of the UWSP/Macalester game on Friday will take on the winner of Concordia-Moorhead/Northwestern (MN) game in the second round on Saturday. Saturday's game will also take place at Macalester Stadium.
Game time for Friday's match-up against Macalester is set for 7:30 p.m.
Last season the Pointers won their opening round game against the University of St. Thomas 1-0 before falling to Augustana by the same score in round two.
The Pointers enter the tournament with a 16-2-1 record and were ranked 23rd in last week's NSCAA National poll.
