David C. Roloff, 84, 1218 S. 4th Ave. Wausau, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 at his home.
David was born Dec. 15, 1925 in Wausau to the late Dan and Martha (Brandt) Roloff. He was a WWII Army Veteran having served in the 9th Armored Division and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He married Elaine Knapp on Dec.13, 1945 in Bastrop, TX. David retired from as a machinist for Wausau Iron Works in 1987.
Dave was a life member of the VFW Burns Post #388. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, restoring old cars, being with his grandchildren and spending time at their cottage on Bear Lake in Hazelhurst.
Survivors include his wife Elaine, Wausau; daughters, Sharon Roloff, Wausau, Evonne (Robert) Hagerman, Pleasant Prairie, WI; son, Ross (Becky) Roloff, Wausau; brother, Russell "Bob" (Ardith) Roloff, Orinda, CA; 4 grandchildren, Dan (Sara) Hagerman, Sarah Hagerman, David and Katie Roloff, and 2 great-grandchildren, Leland Pratt and Ryan Hagerman.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister June Roloff and brother Tom Roloff.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 9, 2010 at Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 703 Flieth St. Wausau. Rev. Dan Solofra of Mountain of the Lord Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church.
