WISCONSIN (WAOW) -- Several events honoring our veterans will take place throughout the day, Thursday.
Students in Abbotsford will partake in a Veteran's Day ceremony that has been a tradition at the school for the past 30 years. Abbotsford School District Superintendent, Reed Welsh, says the ceremony is "important that students recognize the sacrifices that all veterans who have served have made for their country." Welsh says, the "annual reminder and recognition of all those who served continues to be important to our students, our staff, and our community."
A less traditional Veteran's Day celebration will take place in Wausau, Thursday morning.
Members of the UW-Marathon County Veterans Club are have coordinated free Humvee rides and children's activities. The festivities are scheduled to begin at noon and run until 6:00 PM at the Domino Bar.
