WAUSAU (WAOW)--Police make an arrest in a grocery store robbery. Investigators say 40-year-old Tony Berry will likely face charges after being released from the hospital. Police took him there after his arrest because he told officers he felt sick.
Police say Berry walked into Kohlman & Lee's on 3rd Avenue Sunday night and told a worker he would shoot her if she didn't give him money.
She did and he fled, until being picked up by police a short while later.
WAUSAU (WAOW) -- A Wausau grocery store is robbed. According to police, it happened at Kohlman's & Lee's Groceries on 3rd Avenue around 9:30 Sunday night.
Investigators say a 40 year old man walked into the store, stood in line and asked for cigarettes but couldn't pay. He then went outside.
Investigators say he waited for another customer to leave and then went back inside. They say he told the worker that he would shoot her if she didn't give him money. She did and he left the store.
Officers found him a short time later on Garfield Avenue.
He told officers he has a medical condition and was taken to the hospital.
