MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Cody Rosemeyer ran for 218 yards and four touchdowns, leading Gilman over Catholic Central 42-13 to win the WIAA Division 7 championship on Thursday.

The Pirates (13-1) won their third state title by using Rosemeyer and Austin Zach early and often to build a 35-0 lead over the two-time defending Division 7 champions. Zach finished with 181 yards on 15 carries, including a 56-yard TD run on Gilman's first drive.

The Pirates outgained Catholic Central 438 to 208 yards for the game.

Catholic Central (12-2) returned the opening kickoff 72 yards, but never found its rhythm.

The Hilltoppers committed four turnovers, finished 0-for-7 on third down and managed only 208 yards of offense, including 42 on Lee Aldrich's fourth-quarter touchdown catch.
