Victor J. Bukolt Jr., age 78, of Stevens Point and Antigo, died Thursday morning, Nov. 18, 2010, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
He was born Jan. 31, 1932, in Stevens Point to the late Victor and Ramona (Grabowski) Bukolt and was a 1949 graduate of P.J. Jacobs High School and a 1953 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in industrial engineering.
Victor served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and attained the rank LTJG.
On June 13, 1953, he was married to Theresa Przekurat at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
Victor worked for the family business, Lullaby Furniture, as a plant manager in Stevens Point, Butternut, and Toccoa, Georgia. He later was self-employed in the wood products industry, owning Direct Mill Supplier V.J. Bukolt Jr.
He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus, Kiwanis, Sierra Club, Stevens Point Country Club and Bass Lake Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa of Stevens Point; son, Victor Bukolt III of Antigo; daughter, Gail (Stephen) Coury of Denver, Colorado; son, Michael (Debbie) Bukolt of Spring Grove, Illinois; daughter, Mary (Terry) Foster of Cumming, Georgia; sister, Mary (Charles) Felker of LaCrosse; brother, James (Rebecca) Bukolt of Wauconda, Illinois; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Victor's name to St. John's Catholic School in Antigo.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Charlie Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, 703 2nd Street, Stevens Point, and again on Monday in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter Church from 10 a.m. until the time for Mass.
