WESTON (WAOW) - A project on the Iraq and Gulf Wars three years in the making.. is unveiled by DC Everest High School students.

The American History class students spent three years interviewing veterans.

Altogether, they spoke with 115 people, who detailed how they spent their lives during deployment.

The students' work turned into two books.

Ryan Eisenman/DC Everest Sophomore: "There was one man who talked about during his deployment his entire battalion lived under an overpass. I just couldn't imagine doing that and I'm very appreciative that they went and fought for our freedom."

Several of the veterans interviewed for the books attended the unveiling.

They were each given a free copy.  For everyone else, the books cost twenty dollars.
