Dale M. Buss passed away on Sunday November 28, 2010 at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He was born on June 20, 1934, in Schofield, WI the son of the late Marvin and Adelaide (Means) Buss. On September 29, 1956 he married Phyllis Brzezinski. She preceded him in death on February 23, 1999.

Dale served in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956. He was stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Randolph and at Guantanamo Bay Cuba where he pitched baseball for the Navy.

Dale was employed at Weyerhauser for over 41 years, retiring in 1997. After his retirement he worked part-time for Eastbay until 2004.

Dale enjoyed watching the Packers, Badgers, Brewers and Bucks. He also enjoyed traveling to visit his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his three daughters; Lori (Paul) Schmaling, Kenosha, WI, and their children PSSN Alexander Mitek, Pensacola, FL and Jacob Schmaling,; Julie (Rodger Olson) Litzer, Wausau, WI and her children, Amy (SSGT Joshua) English, Minot Air Force Base, ND, and their children Emily, Mathew and Kayden and Amanda Goldade (fiancée Ben Brunell) Rhinelander, WI; Lisa (Jeff) Gustafson, Windsor, WI and their children Timothy and Spencer. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters; Sharon Derusha, Menomonee, WI; Nancy (Leroy) Kurszewski, Rothschild, WI; Bob, O'Fallon, MO; Jim (Marion), Redmond, WA; Judee (Mo) Freund, Duncan, SC; Marlene (Rich) Kurszewski, Hazelhurst, WI. Brother in-laws; Charlie Martin, St. Petersburg, Fl, Lenny Brzezinski, Bob (Jean) Brzezinski, Ronnie (Debbie) Brzezinski, Wausau, WI; Paul (Sharon) Brzezinski, Hilton Head, SC and sister in-law Mary Jane (Mo) Fayyaz, Madison, WI and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, his parents Marvin and Adelaide; in-laws Barney and Mary Brzezinski; sister Beverly Martin; brother in-law Willie Derusha; sister in-law Gloria Buss and 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Deacon Bob Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home and again from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service on Thursday. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Rennes Health & Rehab Center for their loving care of our dad. Also Carol, Shelly and Tony from Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. And dad's neighbors Joanne and Wally Wadzinski for helping dad when we couldn't be there.
