WAUSAU (WAOW)--Wausau leaders call for bids for the 400 block sound system for the third time.
The city's Board of Public Works rejected the current bids because all three were thousands of dollars more than the amount budgeted for the project.
The city has about $35,000 to spend on the sound system. Project leader Allen Wesolowski says they'll work with the companies that bid to figure out a way to get the project within budget. "We are going to look to revamp the specs and plan to get a plan spec alter to come within budget," Wesolowski said Thursday.
Current plans for the sound system include three sets of speakers, two amplifiers and 24 stage lights.
The project is expected wrap up next year in time for summer events.
