WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW)-  The number one Wisconsin Rapids wrestling team kicked off its new season last night.

The Raiders getting a season opening win over DC Everest, thus begins the quest for a third straight Division One team title.

This team has a lot of confidence it can do just that too with 10 state qualifiers returning from a year ago.

And there's nothing more important this year than putting another banner on the wall.

Says Head Coach Scott Benitz, "That's the goal and anytime you can set goals really high, you have hopefully worked hard enough to attain those and we're planning right now on winning the state title, we're gonna have to be ready to go every night."

Says Junior Devin Peterson, "No matter what, we always have team goals, and state is always the first one to go down on the piece of paper."

Says Junior Zak Benitz, "I think this team is one of the best teams we'll have and I think we really can do well."

Says Junior Rylan Lubeck, "You know its gonna be a great season and we're all just looking forward to getting out there and showing people what we can do."
