(WAOW) - The area's future high school wrestlers took to the mats at UW-Stevens Point to learn from one of the country's best wrestlers Saturday.
Lee Kemp was a 3 time NCAA division one champ for Wisconsin, coached the 2008 freestyle olympic team and will appear on the Big Ten Network this season as a wrestling commentator.
The former Olympian runs his own wrestling academy in Illinois and says it's always enjoyable to help kids learn the fundamentals of the sport.
"It's great to watch the young wrestlers get it, pick it up and they work hard at it because that's where I came from," Kemp said. "I look in the room and I see these wrestlers. I was right where they were. I can feel the excitement of what it was like when I was first starting to get it and I was starting to learn positions and I was starting to have some success, so it's exciting.
