ADAMS COUNTY (WAOW) -- Matthew Granger remains in serious condition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison hospital. He was flown to the burn unit after his home and garage exploded Saturday in Adams County.

Matthew is an Iraq War veteran and his family says he has no health insurance.

"Not only he has to suffer the pain, he's gonna have to suffer the bills once this is said and done," says his father, Tim Granger.

Matthew isn't the only one who faces challenges.

His father Tim says suffers from congestive heart failure and lost all of his medications in the fire.

"We've had people come up to us and say: 'What can we do, if you need somebody to run you to the doctor or if you need anything, just call me and we'll do that.'"

One way to help is through The Granger Fire Medical fund set up at the Nekoosa Port Edwards State Bank.

It's designed to help cover medical needs for both Matthew and Tim.

"The hope is to have some money so we can get these things done if they need be," says Betty Granger, Matthew's mother.

The family lost everything in the fire.

Now all they can do is look forward to an uncertain future.

"A lot of emotions, not knowing what tomorrow brings," Tim Granger adds.
