WAUSAU (WAOW) -- High school students played with fire to create welding projects for the second annual competition at NTC today.
More than 200 students submitted projects for judging and the top five won prizes.
The winning project was the "Flippin' Chicken Grill" -- a product that helps chefs flip meat and has adjustable legs.
"You want to take your time on the project instead of rushing it kind of and it was a lot of fun doing it learned a lot of new techniques how to weld and all that," said competition winner Dustin Bay. "Turned out good."
Bay said he likes welding and wants to be an engineer someday. He won a welder with helmets and accessories for his team at Chequamegon High School in Park Falls.
