WAUSAU METRO (WAOW) -- A joint snow removal emergency has been issued in Weston and Schofield. It takes effect at midnight, 12:00 AM Saturday, until 8:00 AM Sunday morning. Vehicles cannot park on public streets or alleys or they will be towed.

The City of Mosinee also declared a snow emergency, effective Saturday, December 11 at 12:01 a.m. expiring Sunday, December 12, at noon.

Merrill leaders declared a snow emergency beginning midnight Friday/Saturday and lasting through Sunday at noon.

Stevens Point Mayor Andrew Halverson announced that a snow emergency will be in effect in the City of Stevens Point effective at 8:00AM Saturday morning and will remain in effect until 12:00 noon Sunday. 

The City of Adams declared a snow emergency, in effect Saturday, December 11th from 6:00 a.m. until further notice.

The City of Wisconsin Rapids will be under a snow emergency beginning at 9:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2010 and will be in effect until 9:00 PM Sunday, December 12, 2010. No parking will be allowed on city streets during this 24 hour period to allow for snow removal.

Mayor Brandt has declared a snow emergency for the city of Antigo, WI effective immediately and until further notice.  This means there is no parking on any city street other than where there is permit parking available. 

The Portage County Sheriff's Department and the Portage County Highway Department are asking people to refrain from traveling during the winter storm.

Leaders in Waushara County have activated a tow ban effective immediately and until further notice. Vehicles that become stuck off the road will not be towed until weather conditions improve.  Assistance will be provided to remove occupants to a safe location.
