Victor R. Kroll, 78, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away December 1, 2010.

He was born August 7, 1932 in Wausau, WI. and moved to Punta Gorda 16 years ago from Mosinee, WI. Victor attended the University of Wisconsin from 1954-1958 and received his Bachelor of Science degree in June of 1958.

Mr. Kroll retired after 35 years as a sales person for Packaging Corp. of America. He was a 35 year member of the Wausau Evening Lions Club and was Past President and held many other offices within the Lions Club; a member of the Oak Creek Lions Club; a past member of the Wausau Elks Club; a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans; Life Time Honorary Member of the Florida Sheriff's Association for support of the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches.

Mr. Kroll served in the United States Coast Guard.

Victor (Bob) Kroll enjoyed collecting breweriana-advertising items. His father worked for the Marathon City Brewery in Marathon, Wisconsin. Bob collected advertising items from the Marathon and Wausau Breweries. He also collected old brewery postcards & stock certificates from old breweries throughout the United States and other items that were of interest to him.

Together with his brother, Peter, he established an internet web site on the history and beer advertising of the Marathon City Brewery. He belonged to the National Association of Breweriana and was a regional director of the American Association of Brewery Advertising. In earlier years, he attended all the conventions and made many friends throughout the collecting field.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Jacqueline; daughters, Lana Sabeti of Oviedo, FL; Julie (Chris) Montes of Mission Viejo, CA; sisters, Elaine (Joe) Wiesman of Wausau, WI; Cynthia Zabel of Wausau, WI; Alice (Mike) Hafner of Mosinee, WI; brother, Peter (Nancy) Kroll of Sun Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Cameron Sabeti; Brandon Montes; Tyler Montes and Austin Montes, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Hopp.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday December 17, 2010 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will preside. Friends may call on Friday December 17, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
