MOSINEE (WAOW)- At 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, Mosinee's Bryce Hladovcak is a force to be reckoned with on the ice. And he proved that last week, with 8 goals in three games as the Indians outscored their opponents 19-1.
"Bryce has a ton of potential," Mosinee head coach Derek Yirkovsky. "He shoots the puck harder than any kid I've ever coached. Being 6-foot, 200 pounds, and having a good shot and good hands, it's hard to stop a kid like that."
"It's really nice to get the goals, get the team going," Hladovcak said. "I wish I could get some more assists, but putting the puck in the back of the net, that's all that counts."
Hladovcak has 12 total goals this season, third best in the state and his coach says his strong play has been key during some of the Indians' offensive struggles.
"We can count on coming to the rink and count on Bryce getting a goal or scoring opportunities because that's just the kind of player he is," Yirkovsky said.
Despite his offensive dominance and Mosinee's 5-0 record, Hladovcak says he's still got room to improve and wants to help lead his team deep into the state tournament.
"A couple of goals I should've put away, but it happens," Hladovcak said. "I'd like to help my team get to, make it far in sectionals, hopefully get to state, hopefully win a sectional championship."
