New citizen task force forms for better health care
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Two new organizations have formed to advocate for better health care in Wisconsin.
More than 60 groups have formed a pair of organizations to make sure that health care is focused on the needs of patients and their family caregivers with special attention given to vulnerable people and older adults.
The new citizen task force intends to mobilize and engage patients and families to advocate for better care and to influence policy makers. Their goals include tying money paid to health care providers to qualitative measurements that show how well patients do and passing laws to improve the health care system.
Some of the participating groups include the American Heart Association, the Wisconsin Nurses Association and the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans.
