Andrew "Bill" W. Dingess, 80, Irma, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. He was born August 23, 1930 to the late John Andrew & Mabel (Jacobs) Dingess. Bill married Ruth Wagner in Chicago on October 29, 1955.
Bill served in the U.S. Air Force in Libya, North Africa. Bill began his career as an engineer working with R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Chicago. After retiring as an engineer, he got into teaching, starting at Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, IL then working in Wausau, Antigo and Lincoln Hills Boys School in the North Central Technical College Programs. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, his dog B.J., driving, attending Church and Bible Study, target practice and spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
Survivors include his wife: Ruth Dingess, Irma; sons: John (Paula) Dingess, Hanover Park, IL, and Bill (Sara) Dingess, Tomahawk; grandchildren: Ryan, Steven, Aaron, and Nathan Dingess, Kristin, Spencer and Lindsay Pluger; great-grandson: Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Dingess.
Services will be held 11:30 AM Friday, December 31, 2010 at Bible Presbyterian Church, Merrill. The Rev. Robert Smallman will officiate. Friends may call from 9 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be Monday at Fairview Memorial Park in Melrose Park, IL. Memorials may be given to Bible Presbyterian Church.
