GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews was nearly unstoppable at the beginning of this season, with 8 1/2 sacks in the first five games. He has been held to just four in the last nine games.
Packers outside linebackers coach Kevin Greene says Matthews' sack numbers are dropping because he's getting so much attention from opposing offenses. He called the number of double- and triple-teams Matthews drew during Sunday's blowout win over the New York Giants "unbelievable."
Going into Sunday's regular-season finale against Chicago with a potential playoff berth on the line, Matthews said he isn't frustrated -- as long as the Packers keep winning.
